NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of tourists from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a four percent increase over the year before, and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This represents a 13% improvement from 2019. It is thrilling to see yet another increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels in 2019 said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 epidemic that was in the news, we had record-breaking monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are thrilled to see this shift and are expecting an upward trend that will continue for months and even years. Not far behind the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in the month of July 2022 and 6,000 in August. We are close to our record numbers for 2019, and we are anticipating that this increase in travel to Israel will continue as Canadians are more comfortable at ease in Israel. Israel received more tourists from around the world in 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 of them were American. Israel's official opening for all travelers was May 2018.
